Welcome to the Grupa 303 Paragliding Club in the UK. The Club was founded in 2007 after few flying buddies, who recently came to the UK, decided to organise themselves and make flying together easier. Then came this website to allow the communication and easy exchange of information with regards to paragliding in the UK.
The Club's name was chosen to commemorate the heroes of the RAF Squadron 303, one of the 16 Polish squadrons during WWII. It was the most succesful, higest scoring RAF squadron during the Battle of Britain.
Grupa 303 is proudly part of the BHPA (British Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association) since 2010. We currently have many members from all over the UK, who take part in all aspects of our sport such as Cross Country flying, competitions etc. Our goal is the same as when we started - to fly together and have fun. See you in the sky!
First May Bank Holiday gave us some fine flying weather. Grupa 303 Pilots went to south facing Talybont to try their luck at some XC. Its a great place for flying, but to get there you're facing over 40 minutes hike that seems steeper and steeper with every step you take, especially if you're carying over 20kg of kit.
But then you get the reward of wonderful views across unspoilt hills and countryside and height difference that lets you connect with those thermals easier and a second chance if you don't get high the first time.
At around 2pm four G303 pilots got to cloudbase and after short conversation they deciced to fly downwind. Artur Leśkiewicz, Marcin Minkiewicz, Jakub Rydel i Michał Wojciechowski flew together and managed to pass 50k mark in the North direction.
