Group 303
Group 303 is a UK based paragliding club proudly welcoming pilots of all nationalities. We have dozens of members from all over the UK where we also suport local clubs. Our aim is to popularize paragliding sport and support pilots from abroad in making first steps here in the UK and fly legally. We are members of the BHPA and implement its values. Crowded airspace and complicated site access makes it difficult to start paragliding for pilots from abroad. We all at Group 303 went through the conversion route or got our pilot license here and can share usefull information. Flying on your own often ends in airspace infringements, accessing closed sites or landing in unauthorised places. This may end up with unpleasant consequences for local clubs or even sites being closed for access for all paragliders.
We are one of the most active groups in the UK. We try to maximise our flying and share information on weather and sites. Being a club without our own sites you can see our members in many places. Most popular are sites in the South close to London, managed by Southern Club, Thames Valley, Avon, South East Wales, but also Midlands, Penines or Dales. We communicate on current conditions here on the website and also Telegram, where we can update live on XC trips and retrieves.
From time to time our members organise trips abroad between themselves. Mainly to Europes high mountains - Italy, France, Slovenia and in winter months some people choose to fly to Madeira or Tenerife. We actively take part in UK XCLeague and international Open competitions like Polish or British Open.
The Club is you, we and everyone else. If you have new ideas and want to change something for better, you are most likely the perfect canidate for the task :)
Who paraglides with us knows that we are always ready for overnight stay. Barbecue is our standard equipment. It helps with para-waiting, or complements great days flying. There's nothing better than sit down to hot food and cold beer after 5 hours flying and discussions with friends around fire. Our Group constantly evolves and changes, there's more and more memories and new plans are arriving daily. If you think that paragliding is something for you, Grupa 303 welcomes you.
